Garnet red color with deeper purple hues. Ripe nose of plums and black currants in combination with floral notes such as lavender and sage accompanied by a noble touch of vanilla. In the mouth, the fruity character is perfectly supported by ripe and fine tannins that leaves a pleasant structure in the mouth and lets you enjoy it for a while.
This is a monument in itself, a symphony of impressions and flavors, perhaps offering more than many dishes can ever guarantee on their own. Take your time and allow the wine to fully open up. If you decide to pair it with food, go only for the highest quality. An experience that transcends the everyday! Also, don't drink the wine when it's too old if you want to fully enjoy its exceptionally fresh character.
- climate
-
Due to the high elevation and the proximity of Lake Berryessa, the climate here is much cooler and less dry than in the rest of Napa Valley. (It can differ up to 10°C from the warmest areas in Napa.) At this altitude, the vineyards also remain above the fog line. Cool Climate.
- soil
-
Atlas Peak is one of the exceptional AVAs within Napa Valley. The soil there is of volcanic origin and, along with the microclimate, is responsible for the exceptional structure and mineral qualities of the wines.
- vinification
-
96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Rigorous selection and manual harvesting. After careful pressing, fermentation is initiated. The wine then further matures in a blend of 84% new French oak and 16% flavor-neutral barrels (for balance and structure) for 22 months. Afterward, it is blended again and bottled.
